A Clean House Helps You Sell
Thursday, June 07, 2012
The most important step you can take to help sell your home is cleaning it from top to bottom. According to a recent survey of 500 real estate agents by Homegain, a good cleaning pays off big time. Agents said $400 spent on cleaning is likely to return an extra $2000 at closing. Here are a few areas to pay special attention to:
- Windows, inside and out
- Stovetop and oven
- Bathroom
- Carpets
- Corners and ceiling fans
- Baseboards
In general, keep every surface sparkly clean and decluttered. Whether you do it yourself or hire a maid service, making the effort to a squeaky clean home to potential buyers is a good investment.
